Beyond the Lessons

In addition to personalized lessons, students also have the opportunity to perform each spring for friends and family at the annual studio recital, giving them a chance to demonstrate their growth and gain comfort performing.  Additionally, I can help students and families navigate tricky decisions, such as the purchase of a new flute or piccolo that fits both the student and the family budget.

About the Studio

As a private flute instructor, my goal is to create fun and engaging environment for students of all ages and skill levels, where we’ll tackle the challenges of flute performance together, as a team. During the initial lessons, students and I will discuss goals and priorities and begin discovering strengths and struggles, from which I will create personalized lesson plans each week to help students grow and achieve their aims. Each student differs, in everything from ambitions to challenges, so I tailor lessons to each individual appropriately.

I firmly believe in fostering a love of music and creativity and working collaboratively with students to help them develop not only the technical mastery and beautiful tone of a flutist but also the critical thinking skills, discipline, perseverance, and self knowledge and mastery that will serve them well in the future, no matter their professional trajectory.

Student Reviews

I worked with Joelle for a little over two years and I can honestly say she is the greatest teacher and person I have ever worked with. Working with her was a privilege because of her endless positivity and creativity when it came to teaching. No matter the obstacle, she always found a way to overcome it without creating feelings of insecurity. Not only this, but she truly cares about every student she works with and finds a way to meet their needs. She wants music to be enjoyable and exciting for students, and this shows in every lesson.

As much as lessons challenged me at times, my wonderful teacher, Joelle, has forever impacted not only my music reading/playing capabilities but also necessary life skills. Joelle is one of the sweetest, kindest, and best people I will ever know and was way more than a teacher to me. I can’t thank her enough for everything she has taught and helped me with over the past 2 years. If anyone is interested or searching for flute/piccolo lessons I strongly recommend you take them from her.
